Tyrannosaurus is one of the most famous dinosaurs. It was long considered to be the largest carnivorous animal that ever lived on land. After its discovery, however, several theropods that were likely even larger have been found. Tyrannosaurus had a physique in common with other Tyrannosaurids; it walked exclusively on its hind legs, which were long and strong. The body was heavily built and balanced by the stiff tail.
